چکیده
In this paper, the dual track use of the time stepping coupled finite element-state space modeling of induction motors to generate databases for healthy and faulty motor performances, coupled to time series data mining techniques, is presented. This dual track is demonstrated here in its embryonic stage to represent a potentially very powerful motor fault diagnostics and identification tool, when fully developed to completion. Thus, the paper presents results that point to a potentially very useful technical tool for fault diagnostics and preventative maintenance of electric motor-drive systems.

Comparison of MRAS Based Rotor Resistance Estimator Using Reactive Power and Flux Based Techniques for Space Vector PWM Inverter Fed Induction Motor Drives
The performance of Vector Controlled Induction Motor drive depends on the accuracy of rotor resistance which will vary with temperature and frequency. The MRAS approach using reactive power and flux as a state variable for rotor resistance estimation makes MRAS computationally simpler and easy to design. In this paper, Rotor Flux based MRAS (RF-MRAS) and Reactive Power based MRAS (RP-MRAS) for ...

Considering the fact that a large volume of iron reserve in the Sechahoon Iron Mine in Yazd Province has located under the water table, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive study on water flow within the pit and its surroundings. The conceptual model of the aquifer was created using surface and underground geological information compared with water table data of the area of interest. In t...
متن کاملTime Stepping Finite Element Analysis of Broken Bars Fault in a Three-phase Squirrel-cage Induction Motor
Broken rotor bars and end-ring are common faults in three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors. These faults reduce the developed toque and increase the speed fluctuations of the motor. Meanwhile, developed unsymmetrical magnetic generates noise and vibration in the motor. Local heat around the broken bars may gradually break the adjacent bars and the motor will be finally out of service. Finit...
متن کاملINDUCTION MOTOR FAULT DIAGNOSTIC AND MONITORING METHODS by Aderiano
Induction motors are used worldwide as the “workhorse” in industrial applications. Although, these electromechanical devices are highly reliable, they are susceptible to many types of faults. Such fault can became catastrophic and cause production shutdowns, personal injuries, and waste of raw material. However, induction motor faults can be detected in an initial stage in order to prevent the ...
متن کاملCoupled BE-FE Scheme for Three-Dimensional Dynamic Interaction of a Transversely Isotropic Half-Space with a Flexible Structure
The response of structures bonded to the surface of a transversely isotropic half-space (TIHS) under the effect of time-harmonic forces is investigated using a coupled FE-BE scheme. To achieve this end, a Finite Element program has been developed for frequency domain analysis of 3D structures, as the first step. The half-space underlying the structure is taken into consideration using a Boundar...
